So I was told that the reason I may have been censored, posts blocked or removed, or put in any type of “FB Jail” is because I may have offended people and have been reported by people on FB, including by my “Friends”. I get that some people don’t want to hear truth, or can accept the truth. I also understand no one can please everyone all of the time. In fact, it is not even humanly possible. And besides if you are doing something right, you will most certainly offend people. As history will also prove that those that made the most positive impact in the word, as well as the most positive impact for the Cause of Christ most certainly offended some people, even so much so, to even their deaths.
Then I was shared this metaphor below, by a much younger family member (btw, not by my children), to whom unfriended & blocked me, which I liked and thought was well said, it goes like this:,
“Some people’s actions or opinions are the reasons people get unwanted consequences. Karma if you will. If a mouse walks up to a hungry snake, the snake will eat the mouse. Can you blame the snake for eating the mouse or blame the mouse for putting itself in harm’s way?”
Although it is a logical metaphor, could you imagine if we all were just quiet, obedient, complacent and stagnant mice? Could you image if no one spoke up against wickedness, tyranny, and injustice? Could you imagine if we were all mice that were lead by the snakes to say, do, vote, and participate in only the way in which they dictate? Well, there certainly would not be the United States, there would not be any Republic, or Democracy anywhere and slavery in all nations, (if any separate nations would even exist,) would most likely still exist. Good thing we are men and women and not mice, that should still be able to identify snakes, or The Snake. Lest we also forget David vs Goliath as well?
Look, none us were meant to be everyone’s “cup of tea”. We simply were not designed by our Creator to be everyone’s cup of tea. We were all uniquely, wonderfully, miraculously and fearfully made, and made for a Purpose. I am who I am, and I am not perfect. I make mistakes, and I have stuck my foot in my mouth. I have regrets, and if you have a soul, you will have regrets because we are supposed to improve, grow, and become better versions of ourselves. I have sought to correct my mistakes, admit my wrongs, ask for forgiveness, repent, and seek to resolve them. However, I do know who I am, where I have been, where I am going, what I am about, and to Whom I serve. I strive each day to consult my Creator and be better than I was the day before.
No, I am not everyone’s cup of tea. Yes, I may offend people. However, we are supposed to be adults, since when do grown people become so easily offended? We are no longer in elementary or junior high school. Sorry, I digress. There will be people I may offend, and it is never my intent to tear anyone down, or crush their spirits. My efforts are actually the contrary. It is to encourage, lift up, and inspire others. I will always strive to speak truth, in love, and speak life. However love needs to be tough sometimes, and the truth may seem divisive. I am authentic, and real. I do “polish it up” a bit, and “wrap it in a bow” for different audiences. However, those who know me, those who truly love me, those other authentic souls, that is what they love about me, and I them. These souls are true non fair weather friends, true non fair weather Christians to whom I affectionately call “Brothers” or “Sisters”.
And when I leave this world, I may have to give an account of what I say, do, or did. However, I would rather arrive in heaven striving to say, and do as my gut, heart, soul and the Holy Spirit leads, than arrive without any scars, or told I had done nothing for the good, or betterment of myself, those I love, and the Kingdom of God.
Idleness, complacency, stagnation, and being easily offended are tools of the adversary, the enemy, the one whom in which was indeed called “The Serpent”. And I will utilize all within my ability, knowledge and Spiritual Gifts not to be devoured by that Snake.
Truth in love, even if it has to be tough love.
